About
Hi everyone, this is it, you've landed. Let me tell you a bit about who I am.
I'm a long time journalist, community worker and mother. I started my first novel series as my children grew into teens. I wanted to create an engaging series that would help adolescents uncover who they are; reconnect with parents; engage with a more diverse range of texts; find their voices and ultimately find healthier ways to interact with teachers and peers. Writing books that approach real issues in a meaningful and entertaining way just seemed like the perfect way for me to do this.
I'm passionate about helping people continue to grow through all stages of life and I also deliver narrative practice support services in Toowoomba. Put simply, this approach to re-authoring your life is a respectful, non-blaming and person-centred approach to therapy which centres people as the experts of their own lives and views problems as separate from people. At it's core, this methodology is about reflecting on the events of your life through therapeutic journal writing and drawing, tree of life workshops and creative writing classes. You are empowered to take control of your own health and well-being journey and reduce the influence of problems on your life. If you're interested in setting up a group to facilitate learning these healthier coping skills, let me know in the 'Say Hello' section.
I also run a collaborative book review project featuring works I have read myself or ones that my book club or network partners in the community have recommended.
